Across Nigeria, countless widows face not only the pain of loss but also the heavy burden of financial insecurity. Without sustainable income, many are left struggling to provide food, shelter, and education for their children. At Giving Is Fun Initiative, we believe every widow deserves more than temporary relief — she deserves the chance to rebuild her life with dignity.
In our past empowerment programs, widows were trained in practical, income-generating skills such as catering, tailoring, bead-making, and small business management. These skill acquisition projects gave them tools to start businesses, earn income, and support their families independently.
One touching example is Mama Grace, a widow of five years who joined our skill training in Lagos. Through our tailoring program, she has since launched a small sewing business in her community. Today, she not only supports her children’s education but also trains younger women who look up to her resilience.
Our mission goes beyond charity. By equipping widows with skills, we break cycles of poverty and restore confidence. Each empowered woman becomes a beacon of hope in her community.
